UDP GOVERNMENT GAINS 2 POINTS, NEW APPROVAL RATING 11%
UDP GOVERNMENT GAINS 2 POINTS FOR JOINT TRAINING BY BDF OFFICERS, WITH GUATEMALAN MILITARY FORCES.
From: Channel 7 TV news.
A(nother) Belizean Kaibil
In 2005, we told you about Lieutenant Rogelio Ramirez the first BDF soldier to receive training as a Kaibil, which is the Guatemalan special force.
Well, tonight, there is another. Lieutenant Rene Cavanas returned to Belize yesterday after completing an eight week intensive Kaibil course in Poptun, Peten Guatemala.
Lt. Cavanas is only the second BDF soldier to participate in the training and he excelled by placing third in his graduating class. He wasn't the only non-Guatemalan, the course had the participation of Mexico, Panama, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Honduras and Belize.
