BELIZE DIET CHANGES IN URBAN AREAS
The diet of urban areas in Belize, the main towns, has changed from majority traditional corn tortillas, to loaf bread and flour tortillas. The rural areas still eat corn tortillas, made from corn meal grown and processed within Belize. The flour products, such as bread and flour tortillas are all made from imported materials and a drain on our foreign exchange account.
