FUEL PRICES CLOSE TO $9 A GALLON IN BELIZE, BUTANE CONVERSIONS WORKING WELL.

Truck with BUTANE FUEL TANK to run the engine.

GASOLINE FUEL PRICES GONE UP AGAIN, REACHING NEARLY $9 BZ A GALLON, OR $4.50 USA

The sudden quick rise in fuel prices for vehicles is playing havoc again with food cost inflation and I passed this truck with a BUTANE CONVERSION this afternoon outside of Western Hardware. With this big a tank, presumably he could go all the way to Chetumal and back on the Northern border? BUTANE as fuel for vehicles reduces costs about a 1/3. You can find a couple of articles we wrote a month or so ago, on this blog earlier down the list about Belizeans in Western Belize converting to BUTANE, versus gasoline.

Western Belize Tourism, starting to slowly pick up.

Now the hysteria in the USA and some of Europe is dying down over their swindles and gambling with banking credit swaps and other examples of criminality and greed in their major financial banking circles, tourism seems to be picking up a bit around Cayo Western Belize.
Things haven't got back to normal yet, but there is a small trickle flow that seems to be slowly increasing here in March, after the dead months of December and January, during the height of the television media talk shows of self serving PANIC they have been spreading among their own countrymen.

BELIZE LOW BUDGET TOURIST STUDY REVELATIONS

A study of low budget visitors, using cabins, rooms and hostels in Belize, reveal that 80% of the tourist travelers staying overnight in both Guatemala and the country of Belize are European girls in their mid-twenties.
This has implications for advertising purposes by the Belize Tourist Board in our country of Belize, as we can focus advertising on this niche tourist group. It also has implications as to the types of facilities, the décor and services that should be applicable for the private sector

WESTERN BELIZE HAPPENINGS!

The photo below is our front door for Falconview Backpackers Hostel Adventure Headquarters. We are located a bit rural on the slope of GREEN PARROT VALLEY which is in the suburb of HILLVIEW of Santa Elena Town. About a half a mile back from the Western Highway. We have been open for business now for two tourist seasons and will be starting our third tourist season in 2009. Thankfully for the coming season, we are now in many Tourist Guide Books for Belize. That should make a difference. The hostel has a three story annex, with three furnished suites, or apartments you might call them at $45 usa a night for short term guests. The hostel in the front building down below has a dormitory for University student types travelling at $11 usa a night for a bunk bed in double bunks. Kitchen of course, dining area and living room with hammocks instead of couches and television. There is also a weight bench for the guys to work out. The birds will wake you up in the mornings around here. They make a ruckus at daylight. That and the occasional dog fight in the village type area and roosters in backyards.
