GUATEMALA AHEAD IN GAMBLE TO MAKE CLAIMS AGAINST BELIZE DUE TO STUPIDITY OF UDP POLITICAL PARTY LAWYERS.

Belize is the only party involved in this matter that, if taken to the ICJ, has something tangible to lose! If we foolishly vote to go to the ICJ we legitimize Guatemala's spurious claim. The ICJ would reject that claim to the southern half of the country, but as a result of "arbitration" would grant them maritime rights to our southern seas, including submarine mineral (oil) rights in those seas. I have it from a very high authority in Guatemala that is all they want at this time. You can decide now to vote NO ICJ.

So far Guatemala is winning on the gambit  to gain rights over portions of Belize.  Due to stupid UDP lawyers, in the political party, the country of Belize is gambling away their rights, without any corresponding possible loss to the other Guatemala side.  Not even forcing them as a requirement, to delete their spurious claim to Belize from their Constitution.   Only chances Belize has in this fiasco, is a) there will not be enough voter turnout for the referendum, or b) the public will vote NO!  It boggles the mind, why the UDP would even consider an old English, Spanish territorial argument on modern day INDEPENDENT BELIZE, which was not even born back then.
