African elephants are reaching near extinction with small gene pool

INTERESTING STATISTIC ON POPULATION OF ELEPHANTS IN AFRICA

70 YEARS AGO IN AFRICA, THE POPULATION OF ELEPHANTS WAS IN THE MILLIONS. TODAY THE POPULATION OF ELEPHANTS IS AROUND 330,000 IN AFRICA.

I OFTEN THOUGHT IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A DOZEN BURMESE, MORE WORKABLE TRANQUIL ELEPHANTS IN BELIZE FOR LOGGING AND REMOTE WORK. ( not the African wild variety )
