The Venezuelan government is determined to eradicate cataracts and pterygium in Belize.
Over the past five years, they have flown hundreds of Belizeans to Venezuela to receive free surgeries.
On Saturday another 80 left and they spoke to us at the airport:..

"Today we are taking 80 patients, we were supposed to take 90, but we
are taking 80 patients to Venezuela, they are going to be there for 15
days. Everything is fully paid by the government of Venezuela."

"For me I appreciate it very much because it's something that not
everybody can do for example and on the economic side, sometimes you
just can't get the funds to get the treatment or the surgery."

The patients are FROM Punta Gorda, Dangriga, Belize City, and Orange Walk. They return in 15 days. This is the ninth Mission Milagro trip.
