FIRST PLACE WINNERS
The Rotary Club, 8th Annual Elocution contest for High School Students was held at HODES PLACE in San Ignacio Town, of Western Belize on January 21st, 2010. The idea is to encourage public speaking. There are four categories to choose from: Impromptu speech, Published Poems and Excerpts, Original Poetry and Essay Writing.
Judges were: Dr. Delita Tonti, Dr. Lydia Balderamos Loskot and Armando Leiva - Education Officer.
First Place in the Essay writing competition was Matthew Gomez, from our Guatalupe High School, Original Poetry by Isai Garcia from Eden High School, Published poems was Joshua Pech from Western High School and Impromptu Speech from Reynaldo Romero from Sacred Heart College.
Organizers were: Rotarians Maria, Estella Recinos, Ruth Gutierrez and Pia Durham.
