International Development Bank had a team in Belize last week, SOFT SOAP - SELLING LOANS.
The new jargon is VENTURE LOANS to be administered through the Credit Unions and Atlantic Bank.
The bank recently got an infusion of billions in new capital and now needs to lend it out quickly to some SUCKERS. If you control the debt of a small country like Belize, you literally own the country and reap all the foreign exchange as a cash interest rate crop.
The latest sales pitch is VENTURE CAPITAL LOANS. Now if we got investment capital as in buying shares in small enterprises, that would be TRANSFORMATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS. But the same old tried and true LOAN BUSINESS is just sharks feeding off the small CARICOM countries. ( just my opinion )
