THE UDP GOVERNMENT IS ASKED TO TAX DISADVANTAGE PLASTIC BAGS AND UTENSILS IN BELIZE.

REPLACING PLASTIC BAGS, AND STYROFOAM CARRY OUT FOOD CARTONS IS BEING DEBATED AGAIN ON THE BELIZE CULTURE LISTSERVE.

"THE UDP need to tax advantage", permanent bags, or bags that degrade, etc. So that the public can choose between annoying plastic garbage waste and degradable bags like paper, or plates and cups of ceramic, or tin.

This comes under the heading of things the UDP are not doing, to improve life in Belize and protect the environment. It is probably too much to expect the UDP CABINET to do this small item, after years of debate, as they cannot seemingly do any other things that should be done in the ordinary way of improving life in our nation. SAD, but that is politics, once they gain control of the government revenues.
