BELIZE GOVERNMENT TEAM TO INVESTIGATE US TREASURY EVIDENCE IN KING PIN BLACKLIST ACT DESTROYING LOCAL BANANA EXPORT INDUSTRY.

US TREASURY KING PIN ACT, ACTION DESTROYING THE BANANA INDUSTRY OF THE STANN CREEK VALLEY IN BELIZE, HAS A GOVERNMENT TEAM GOING TO THE USA TREASURY THIS WEEK, TO FIND OUT WHAT'S WHAT?

 
Seems the Belize government is going to question the actions of the USA Treasury personel about destroying the Stann Creek banana industry?

  In an interview on TV, John Zabaneh, owner of a banana plantation, deals in millions of dollars of bananas.  He is the one, the US TREASURY has blacklisted all banks dealing with him, or his businesses.  John Zabaneh gave an interview on TV the other night, and explained his banana plantation and business, operate the same as any other Belize business.  "  We operate from bank loan, to the next bank loan and overdrafts, just like everybody else.  Famous Marie Sharp, says despite her success in building an export business of condiments to the USA, she also; has only worked for paying bank loans and interests, all her commercial life.  So John Zabaneh is no different in this regard.  The banks in a roundabout way, control and own all the big businesses in Belize, especially those of agriculture origins.

  John Zabaneh CHALLENGED the US TREASURY, to produce ANY EVIDENCE he had done any drug deals in the last 15 to 20 years?  He kept harping in his interview, they are talking about the 1980's, a different time and era.

  I take John Zabaneh's point well.  I don't know John personally, but heard of him vaguely.  Stann Creek Valley was difficult to get to, in those primitive rural days.  I knew the 1960's and 1970's and 1980's drug scene in Belize well.  It was a different time. I have written three books about it.  THE BELIZE CONNECTION,  THE BELIZE VORTEX, and THE BLUE HOLE.  The USA borders were porous.  My own business was building boats and trying to build a tourist business, with charter boating.  I was pioneering the then beginning TOURIST BUSINESS IN BELIZE.  Most of my customers were allegedly USA drug smugglers, with their small planes, waiting for their marijuana crop to be harvested, to get a load for the USA.  By boat and plane they came, in the dozens.  The whole country of Belize in those years were in one way, or another connected somehow to this export marijuana business.  I had alleged drug smugglers chartering my boat for scuba trips, and they would be followed by DEA agent armed cowboys chartering my boats for scuba trips.  I was investigated so many times, I used to joke with my family, the CIA and the DEA must have a paper file on my life 21 feet high, in some corner office someplace.  I still get them occasionally dropping by investigating me, especially when I had my HOSTEL running.  It was a joke to me, I can recognize those undercover bazoos's immediately.  The tourist trade eventually morphed into oil well exploring engineers, the doctors from Detroit, oil money people from Texas and Louisiana and rich lawyers from New Orleans area and Beaumont.
  By the mid 1980's and into the 1990's the drug smuggling routes through Belize, turned to South American cocaine and the drug business got very violent with a lot of killings.  The USA got serious about closing their porous border and marijuana stopped being shipped out of Belize.  Up to then sailboats full, planes full, etc.  I had guest charters that were crooked Supreme Court Judges from the USA, smoking illegal pot on my boat, to my surprise, as well.  THAT surprised me!  I understand from the street gossip, that John Zabaneh had participation back in those early days with filling planes with marijuana down South.  It was just gossip though and often gossip is envy and jealousy.  He was building the banana plantation back then, with some kind of UK money deal, to support getting the banana business started. Sponsored by the then British Honduras colonial government, before Independence.

  What I suspect has happened, is some OVERZEALOUS BUREAUCRAT in the DEA and the TREASURY DEPARTMENT, up there in the crooked, criminal NORTH, is looking to make themselves look good, to keep their department budget and jobs, by implementing the TREASURY KING PIN ACT.  They are exaggerating and lying, trying to make themselves bureaucratically look good.  I think JOHN ZABANEH is right, if he is challenging them to produce anything to do with drugs in the last 15 years. It is otherwise a CROCK OF BUREACRATIC SHIT coming out of the TREASURY DEPARTMENT.  If I had to believe either one, I would believe John Zabaneh, not the TREASURY DEPARTMENT, if they cannot produce anything other than innuendo, fiction and suspicions.  Hopefully our Bond Default negotiating team, who is supposed to investigate the US TREASURY evidence ( if any ) can find out how the hell bureaucrats up there can destroy a much needed banana industry in our Stann Creek Valley here.
