BTB claiming Central American tourism advertising campaign ongoing, without fighting within the local government to drop VISA controls.

RECENT NEWS FROM THE BELIZE TOURIST BOARD, ANNOUNCING THEY HAVE FINISHED THIS WINTER SEASON´S SALES PITCH TO CENTRAL AMERICAN COUNTRIES.

While the above move is useful to the tourist industry, particularly in that it is not season bound to cold weather for the Northern hemisphere. It is going to be less than useful, unless the Foreign Affairs Office abandons the VISA controls governing the 34 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America. When I hear this has been done, then the private sector sales pitches, can gear up to attracting Latin American tourism. Belize needs to abandon VISA requirements for any country part of the American continent. If they must, the bureaucrats can instigate a TOURIST CARD like done in Mexico. The CELAC meeting recently as last week in Caracas, Venezuela brought that point out.
