INFLATION BITES WESTERN BELIZE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

sand and gravel truck delivering
INFLATION BITES THE WESTERN BELIZE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. SAND AND GRAVEL LOADS HAVE DOUBLED IN LESS THAN A YEAR. AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, A TRUCK DELIVERED SAND AND GRAVEL FOR $75. SOMETIME IN THE SPRING THEY RAISED THE PRICE TO $100 BLAMING FUEL COSTS. THIS WEEK MY LATEST LOAD IS NOW COSTING $150.

PETROLEUM PRICES ARE PUTTING CONSTRUCTION UNDER SEIGE. INFLATION HAS TO BE OUT OF SIGHT THIS YEAR.
