CORRUPTION TODAY, WITH FREE CASH GIFTS TO PARTY MEMBERS IN BELIZE

MINOR SMALL INDEPENDENT POLITICAL PARTY, ( VIP ) WITH IT´S HOME BASE IN BELMOPAN, THE CAPITAL; RAISES ISSUE OF POLITICIANS MANDATORY PUBLISHING THEIR ASSETS, ETC. THE IDEA TO FIGHT CORRUPTION AND BRING IN THE INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT AND JUSTICE DEPARTMENT, WHEN EVIDENCE ARISES OF UNEXPLAINED INCREASES OF WEALTH BY POLITICIANS.



VIP wants “annual sworn declarations of their assets, income, and liabilities” of “each elected person in House of Representatives, Senate and City and Town Councils

A member of our executive visited the Archives Department to conduct a research of your annual reports. One Mr. Aguilar informed us that the Archives has never received a report from your office. A web search produced an article from Amandala which shows that the last report of your commission was dated December 31st, 2008 and was published in the February 13, 2010 issue of the Belize Gazette.

THIS IS A GOOD IDEA AND USED THROUGHOUT PARTS OF THE USA. UNFORTUNATELY IN BELIZE THE CRIMINALS DOMINATE THE POLITICAL PARTIES WHO WIN ELECTIONS AND THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF MAKING LAWS WITH PENALTIES, THAT MIGHT UNCOVER THEIR CORRUPTION. IN PAST ELECTIONS THERE HAVE BEEN THE USUAL POLITICAL BOMBAST AND RHETORIC, BUT NEVER ANY MEAT BETWEEN THE BUN, ( so to speak ) FOR SUCH LAWS OFFERED. THE POLITICAL SYSTEM IN BELIZE IS BASED ON EXTRA self enrichment, GAINED FROM CORRUPTION, EMBEZZLEMENT, ETC. RAIDING THE TAX REVENUE STREAM AND TREASURY IS PRACTICED BY BOTH UDP AND PUP. THE NEW VIP AND PNP small third parties are trying to unite, to offer voters a chance.

The Belize MEDIA are the watchdogs of the body politic in Belize. They do not do as good a job as they should. For instance, the media have not reported on the largesse from the Ministry of Finance, for Christmas presents for constituents of ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES, nor explained whether the OPPOSITION elected representatives shared equally with such cash gifts. No rules, reporting, declarations, bookkeeping is required of huge sums of money given by our one party dominated political government, given for whatever reason as cash handouts, to elected representatives. We the voters have no knowledge if such CASH GIFTS are restricted to party in power elected representatives, or equally distributed to ALL representatives, including the OPPOSITION. NOR ON THE SPENDING OF SUCH GIFTS, OR POCKETING SAME BY ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES. This is real corruption existing today and all through the history of the political past, going back before INDEPENDENCE.
